Should I switch to Data/AI/ML?

I'm a mobile app developer with 6+ years of experience. I don't have much interest in data analysis/engineering/management related fields, neither do creating ML models excite me.

But with everything being integrated with AI/ML these days... I feel a FOMO - should I switch fields in order to remain relevant?

FOMO of what? Moving to this area is not necessarily needs you to be working for any company. If you have spare time, just read the topics and do bit of hands on .

FOMO that if I don't position myself as an AI guy rn, I won't get good AI related jobs later. Because most HRs have experience as a filter.

Additionally, building a skill takes time.

AI/ML projects are very limited. If they don’t see a proper use case. Most of the time, whole team is doomed. You see the picture from outer area which looks relatively amazing.

Go read and do some certifications around this tech stack. Nptel, databricks etc has very good courses.

Even if you plan to move, start with Data Engineering.
