Rent or buy Flat

I have been in Bangalore for the last 3 years and am thinking about having my next atleast 15 years here in Bangalore. What will be the better option? Renting the flat as per job location or just buying a flat.

Buy it if your parents are well taken care of and they aren't dependent on you.

Actually, they need to be taken care of. I'm thinking of letting them come to Bangalore and live with me. And I'm really not sure, if they like to live here or not. Because they don't know kannada and English they barely know.

After paying down payment, if you still have 6 months EMI savings (apart from your emergency funds and investments) as backup even in the worst case scenario of you getting laid off and not getting a new job for 6 months then go for it.

Otherwise don't go for it till you are this much financially stable.
