Regretting leaving a WFH Job for a bigger brand
So I had joined this permanent remote company at 12 lpa fixed. The project seemed great with alot learning and good wlb but soon a month after joining I got an offer from one of the FAANG for 15.5 fix + 4lakh bonus + Stocks but for Bangalore location. After alot back and forth I decided to go ahead with brand name and as I havent lived outside my hometown I felt moving out of my comfort zone and the learning curve is good. 2 weeks here and I regret it. The culture is fast paced with alot hustle and bad wlb. Plus I am feeling extremely homesick and lonely. I lowkey feel like I did a huge mistake.Also I dont think I would be able to switch early now considering I left last company within a month of joining. I have 3.4 YOE. I am wondering if I did right and its just that I am overwhelmed by everything around? Um really not sure.

Even I was working remotely for 4.5 years from the beginning, was in a startup with extremely good WLB @14 LPA fixed. Never moved out of my hometown, except for college. But then I got an offer from Societe Generale Bangalore @ 20LPA fixed. Moved to Bangalore, it's been 2 weeks for me as well, and I'm thinking did I do a mistake. 😐
Wonder if this will get better with time.

Don't push someone into something just because of brand name.. personal choice and preferences matter.. he might have chosen the FAANG for brandname + salary..
Ex: My preference Salary< qualitylife < family time.. Quality doesnt mean eating chicken at KFCs, coffee at Starbucks, having rolex watch for checking time, iphone for scrolling insta reels,..

And you are just feeling overwhelmed with too many sudden changes - change of place, managing household by yourself, new work environment. Will get better. If it helps, try calling your mom-dad for few days to help till you settle - take them out to Mysore, nearby places over the weekend
