I am working in tech completed master from Tier1 but now from last year or so lost most of interest in tech as developer. Fortunately I got good WLB job at cost of less pay, but overall in industry seeing and talking to all friends seems everyone is in constant pressure and bounded to work only.
Is it really worth it? High pay but at what cost less time for self, family for life in general, bad health and loneliness. Everybody just discuss their recent switch, more TC etc but not about how life gonna be in that job
Adding to that comes the toxic culture of software tech industry, layoffs, no time bounds etc.
Is tech is only industry people finding sexy and cool these days? Down the line 5-10 years from now what max they can have good flat in apartment few cr in portfolio but at cost of no lived or future cheerful life ( mindset of I will achieve this and enjoy later )
Why noone values starting business or something of own? Even in marraige scene all girls look for life above mentioned that just visible good from outside. Seeing the potential of consumer expenditure and era of AI internet why we are rushing to just getting better job but not selling something? Starting ecommerce store or anything which one has interest in, maybe it can be dumb for other but interesting for other.
Why noone appreciates or motivates in that? Obviously the earning wont be tech guy heavy but it will come with no limits where sky is limit.
We all talk RAT Race is bad but deep down why everyone is liking to be a RAT only and want future partners to be RATs only?
Guys from really good tech profiles would u mind sharing ur thoughts on this?

Starting and running a profitable business Is not easy. It also requires one to spend more than 9-5 at work. Ppl starting businesses do it in their home town.
Why will a woman want a guy who is full focused on his business, profit/loss tension, if loss then no household spending, 9-9 work means less time for family, in native town lesser work opportunity for women. Why would any modern woman want that?
Is 9-5 really 9-5, but people consider it as 9-5 and do 9-9 happily and even their wives also happy. Profit loss tension what about layoff tensions with hefty emis ongoing.
Their are risks but why ‘modern woman’ dont even consider calculated risks for business. I am saying business and go in debt and losses. I am curious what call them modern then, ? By thoughts I dont think so

Few years back , i didn’t like my job, i tried most of things i can to earn money and leave my job … lost money and tagged to a service based company . Thing is when you try to do something else , they will be less resources available or there will be no guidance. Everyone has to make mistakes and learn from that. It really costs alot. Make money is not difficult, make money from limited resources is difficult. From that fear i only i hopped into my comfort-zone and not trying anything new. But deep inside i am curious and want to learn new things, now in a better way 😊.

Majority folks don't come from money in our country. They're in general risk averse. When we get jobs in these companies most of our basic desires and needs are met with the money. Toh eventually we stop looking at the other side.
