Reached 10L networth

I know it's not a big amount, but felt like announcing this. Here's my nw breakdown-

FD/Emergency fund: 5L MF/stocks: 1L Sitting around: 4L (can't get myself to invest it, the market seems very overvalued. Will try to invest this in small chunks over a duration)

Next target is 50L, it'll take much longer than this 😭

Yep depends on one's lifestyle but considering inflation, retirement amount should be upwards of 5 crore to afford a decent lifestyle

'23 grad and thinking about retirement? Bro enjoy your life first. 20s end just like a fleeting moment, better to have good memories along with the inevitable back pain.

Congratulations 🎉 1st. You can live without job for 1-2y!

Increase your skills and do think from a different perspective...

Get a good health insurance for family though.

50L is just a no.

Invest in quality blue chips after a bear 🐻 attacks.

Very good bhai. 5 lakh cash and 5 lakh FD very good. You have unlocked good backup. Get 5 credit cards atleast. Get cc against the fds as well. CC is 48 day free cash. Dont be fooled by other about cc being riskt. It covers risk.u are smart enough to figure about that you need 10 lakh cash first then walk around market for stocks and gold and other risky and rewarding stuff. There is nothing more rewarding than having cash in pocket when u need it. You are smart you will not misuse cc i am sure. You have unlocked your position to now go in market for a fair risk return investment. Goood luck.

Thanks a lot, already got 3-4 cc. I use cc for most of my payments, although my credit history is not old since I recently started using cc my score is near 800

10L is plenty. 50L will take less than you think. Have trust in compounding.

I treat myself way too often 😭 thinking of following a good diet now. What's the point of saving all this if I die in my 30s due to heart disease lol

There is no best time to invest. Better start from now and slowly keep investing and try to upskill a little bit on macroeconomics.

Apart from this I would highly recommend taking term insurance and health insurance.

The first ones are the hardest. Don't look at the money , celebrate the habit that you have built so painfully.

One suggestion move this sitting around fund to a liquid etf in your demat , you will get fd comparable rates and will be able to instantly redeem them during market hours (80 pct cash available instantly) to buy equities you believe are rightly priced at some point in the future.

Hmm, but what's the benefit? my FDs are liquid too I can break them anytime and invest

BouncyPancake

Dividends from liquid bees are units of the etf itself which although will be taxed similar to interest payout from FD but will accumulate over time and have a compunding effect.

The difference between FDs and Liquid Debt is similar to the difference between payout MFs and growth MFs.

Kudos 👏
The first 10L is hard. You'll reach 50L in lesser time from here. G

Actually I saved 10L seamlessly almost in half a year. 50L will take longer.

What is your net worth (Mega 🧵)

Mention your total investments (Stocks, MFs, FDs, Cryptos, real-estate, gold etc) and your total net worth (investment assets' current value + hard cash + bank account balance) and also your age.

PS: Don't include paper money / ESOPs ...

How much wealth have you created yourself?

  1. Real estate (invested value)
  2. Liquid cash
  3. Other Investments (invested value)

The wealth should not be inherited.

I'm 30. No house, 10L in cash and 5L in mutual funds. No inherited weath.

I know it sounds very funny as it's almost nothing, but considering my background, this is huge for me after just turning 23 and started working 4 months ago at 7k pm. I got 92k just in last 7days. I was in heavy depression for few years...
