QA to Developer. Is it possible ?

Can a QA with 2-3 years of experience switch to Development ? How much time (approx) will it take to learn FE or BE or Full Stack ? How much shall be spent for an average candidate ? What salary one can expect while switching from QA to Dev ? Is this worth it, looking at frequent layoffs or QA not getting hired (even for Automation) ?
