Planning to startup but not sure how?
Was having conversation with someone on GV and wrote something.
Feel might be helpful to others.
Identify the problem that you feel demands a new way to be solved.
It can b across multiple functions, on business side or consumer side.
Write down couple of such problems (more the merrier).
Then think of solution to these problem from very first principle. Research if somebody else is solving, how are they solving, what’s wrong with their solution, what’s missing over there etc.
Now stack these problem based on how intense they are. Intense based on if its enterprise problem hpw much money companies are losing because of this, how much productive hours companies are losing
If its consumer problem then identify how people are at loss because this problem is not solved. How can solving this problem will make life easy for people.
Once you have stacked them then start experimenting based on priority stack.
In between you may also get some affinity to the problem. Some problem may be more closer to your heart (you yourself faced it/you know a lot about this domain) etc
Based on these start running small experiment(does not mean building tech, means talking to user, building MLP, Landing page, gathering interests, user conversations etc)
These experiments will help you building conviction on each problem.
You may go deep or you may realise that this is not worth solving.
Once you have some credible data points you can start building team, think of going full time, start accumulating capital (saving/break FD/Raise from family/Angels/VC)
You will start having your startup soon!
Give a time period to each problem. Don’t drag for long. Move on from things that are not working either because you are not working or of things are working move on to next step.
Happy to answer more specific questions.
