Ola Argues Drivers Not Employees, Can't Act Under POSH Act
- Ola contended in Karnataka HC that it can't be held responsible for a driver's actions as drivers are not employees.
- The HC was hearing a 2019 petition by a woman alleging harassment by an Ola driver in 2018 and lack of action by Ola.
- Ola's counsel argued that the driver was blacklisted and the company is merely an intermediary, not responsible under the POSH Act.
- The petitioner's lawyer argued that customers trust Ola for safety, and the company should be accountable.
- Justice Kamal criticized Ola's comparison to online marketplaces and reprimanded the state for inadequate action on the complaint.

Argument seems logical
