Need Help Regarding Education Gap and TCS BGC Process

I have an offer letter from TCS. There is an education gap between my 12th and Bachelor’s (from March 2018 to June 2020) because I initially opted for a different stream, but had to drop it due to financial issues. I had mentioned this gap in my application.

However, while filling out the application, the start date for my Bachelor’s was automatically set to 01/01/2020, and I didn’t notice it at the time. I cleared NQT, got shortlisted, and during the interview, I was asked about the gap. I explained the situation honestly, and I received the offer. I also appeared for the offer upgrade exam, got shortlisted again, and it was only after the upgraded interview that I realized the Bachelor’s start date was incorrect.

Now, my actual education gap is slightly more than 2 years (March 2018 to June 2020), and I’m worried about the background check (BGC) process.

Should I: 1. Stick to the old dates as per the application? 2. Submit the correct dates and provide a gap affidavit explaining the situation?

I’m genuinely worried, as I don’t have any other offer and I’m completely dependent on this TCS opportunity. Has anyone faced a similar situation? Will this affect my offer?

Any guidance would be really appreciated.

Update the correct dates, TCS background verification is kind of strict. Also mention the gap details in an affidavit(which usually on-boarding HR's don't even look at). Nothing to worry it won't have any impact on your on-boarding until dates are correct.
