Hi guys, I’m going to buy MacBook Air m3. Need to choose between 8gb with 512gb SSD or 16gb with 256gb SSD. Please share your suggestions who are using the same. I have a fix budget. Also, can you please share how much does it cost to take Microsoft apps subscriptions. PS: this will be be first MacBook and I’ll be using it for my MBA college. I want to use it for the next few years say 5yrs

Use the budget for MS Apps subscription and go for 16-512 configuration.
8GB not recommended nowadays. 256 if you can live with it.

Why would you even need MS apps subscription?

If you are just gonna be using using it for college purposes like just some pdf , movies , and some word , browsing and stuff I would suggest you to go with M1 MacBook Air 8GB/512GB (If you want more storage since you are gonna be using it for 5yrs)and way lower in price now and worth it for that purposes , But if you are gonna be using it for video editing , building projects and stuff, then for sure u need 16 GB RAM atleast so if budget permits go for m3 16GB 512 / 256 else maybe try M1 or m2 cause there is marginal difference that most people might notice in real life

For MBA and future usage, better to prefer 512GB. 8Gb is ok, but go for 16 if you can

As long as no audio/video production using Adobe or other apps, totally fine with 8GB However, suggest waiting till Oct to see if M4 chips are added
