Need help finding a solution to anxiety
I am from Hyderabad. I’m 35 yr old male working in a company where work culture is toxic. I was working in a good company and moved to the current org 9 months back. Off late whenever there is any discussion with my counter parts or my boss or if i have to work on some task, I’m feeling my heart racing. It reached upto a point now that couple of times I was not able to understand what was going on and I thought i was having a heart attack. I usually walk it off but i am realising that i need help and i cant live like this. So i started thinking if this anxiety started after i joined recent org or it was there earlier as well and i remember that i used to feel anxious when there were big releases in mu previous org as well but not so severe. I dont know whom to reach out to. I cant tell my wife or family as they will be worried and i dont want that. Anyone who faced similar issues or knows what to do please please please help 🙏 🙏 🙏

Brother, before doing anything start physical activity, exercise, walking jogging whatever possible 3-4 times a week. No medicine can come close to physical activity. Try introspecting with clear mind why do you feel all that. No one knows you better than you, so take out time. And also start eating clean if not doing already.
These things are reminder of stuff we have been used to ignore
This is good advice. @OP, I’ve had similar experiences of severe anxiety in the past and regular walking, workout and change of mindset did help a lot.

Yes I felt the same due to different reasons, what helps me a lot is intense physical activity like badminton / pickle ball. Also take care of your sleep. This might come and go but you need to manage it.

I have faced something similar for quite some time. Anxiety attacks last from minutes to days.
Usually the reason for anxiety attacks is the combination of not so friendly people around you, that breaks your confidence at work, and poor "gut" feeling as you keep on digesting hostile surroundings for long.
There's also a lack of vitamin d and b12 levels that come at play to worsen the anxiety attacks.
You need to decompress a bit in life, many suggestions are quite on point.
- Walking
- Weight training
- Good food
- Friends chut chat outside your job
- Bharamari pranayama ( this one is very effective)
- And last but not least, art of not giving a fuck.
Sooner you realise that your lack of existence could be easily addressed by a company, you'd work without any burdens.
Your family needs you more than your workplace. So take a chill pill.
You will survive these episodes, just stick to a healthy routine from given suggestions.
Do check b12, d3 levels and take pills if necessary, and do take magnesium gummies a few hours before sleeping.
Don't worry you are not alone, many in this demanding sector suffer from toxic workplaces.

This advice is actually pretty much on the point. Please engage in morning walks, weight training, games like badminton/pickle ball and especially bhrahmari yoga asan. This will really help your nerves to relax and slowly recover from anxiety symptoms. And, get your vit B12 and D levels checked.

This is accurate. Vitamin D in most of the IT people is low. Mine was so low the reading didn't show. I had to take vitamin D injection shots. Just plain old mindset change won't happen.

Speak to a counsellor, looks like your anxiety now has grown which manifests into physical symptoms. It’s quite normal, a few therapy sessions and you’ll be fine

My cope is my FIRE number . Thinking i am not here for the long run

Haha I was looking for this comment, that's what I think about whenever I have anxiety. LOL

What should be that number sir assuming I will live in tier 3 city in my fathers house . I have 2 yrs old boy not planning anymore. 7.5 yrs of experience with one investment in real state 2 yrs back whose current value is 50 lakhs. PF I think it’s 4 lakhs and 2 lakhs in MF. My pay is 25 fix.
Buddy consult a doctor preferably a therapist. There are medications that can help you. Even talking sessions help too.
Start exercising too. If possible take a break from work for 15 days.

I think it is better to start exercising and spend time on a hobby first rather than just seeing a therapist. Very few shrinks are good in India. Had personal experience with some relative.

There are multiple things that you can do , this is something I had faced 3-4 years ago when I was in engineering.
- Start focusing on things that are in your hand.
- Do physical activity like exercise/ Yoga, if you are hindu be little bit religious like go tample and listen some bhajan it will definitely help you , Remember that always keep faith in God .
- Company and people of company are just your colleagues who are working with you they only can fire you nothing more than that if you are healthy from mind you will get multiple way to come out from it. So start giving less important to all head / boss. For me bhajan and pooja help a lot and now I am in better shape.

The discussion makes you feel it, try to understand the reason of it -
-
Are you unable to understand what these people are saying in technical terms or business terms. If it is technical , study the tools and research them more. If it is business, try to talk to more people about the business, get high level understanding of every area of the business
-
Do you feel out of place because of something ? What seems to be the issue- talk to yourself and find out. Sometime we are aware of these things but cannot accept it due to something or the other
See if it can make your head clear, or give you a path.

What's the root cause of it? Maybe try finding it out. I felt the same whenever I had joined new firms and I was the one knowing the least of all and was keeping myself under pressure.
Do you think your boss and counterparts are technically or otherwise stronger than you? Is that intimidating you? Are you overthinking if you screw up what will happen etc? Do you have a lot more responsibilities than you can handle?
You should also talk to a psychologist, some offices sponsor free consultation also. They do help to get the root cause and fix it.
Do meditation, yoga, exercises also. If you are a Hindu then start worshipping Hanuman ji.
Good luck.
