Need advice on choosing offer

36 LPA in a fully remote company Or 34 LPA hybrid in Bangalore

The 36 lpa one is okayish company with very less learning curve while 34 lpa one is a very good startup and can increase my career trajectory many times. The only concern is they are low balling me a bit. Also, since i have to move to Bangalore, the expenses will increase.

A lot of hybrid companies are moving to a 5-day work-from-office model. Your career trajectory matters, but your peace of mind will matter even more after moving to Bangalore. Expenses are one thing, but you’ll also be compromising on basic infrastructure and standard of living when you move to Bangalore. If you’re living in a tier-2 or tier-3 city with a 36 LPA package, consider yourself blessed.

The best decision you can make is- listen to everyone but decide what is more suitable/matters to you. -

its depends on whats matters to you - peace, freedom, to leave with family, good saving, easy slow life in tier 2,3 city’s. Good climate, No traffic

Or

Good Networking, so called fancy life, office dramas, exploring- things/peoples, long travel hours… traffic, accommodation expenses.

You're young at 4 YOE. This is the time to explore, new city, new ppl, office environment, and you see growth in this startup.

Don't listen to the grumpy experienced fellows here who are tired from all of the above. In 30s you may want remote. But definitely not in your 20s.

You need to have a real solid reason(s) to want remote. E.g. I want to side hustle, I need money for loans, I want to workcation all the time, etc

Based on my experience, I would suggest choosing a hybrid or full-time office role. Fully remote work often provides fewer opportunities for learning and collaboration.

I also believe that complex problems are best solved through multiple discussions, which becomes difficult in a remote setup. You often get stuck in a loop of finding a suitable time, and sometimes people don’t join the call, making the whole process less intuitive and less effective.

However, if you want more peace and better savings, remote work is a good option. With a 36 LPA salary in Bangalore, you may end up spending nearly 60% of it on rent, travel, food, and entertainment.
