Need Advice: Early-Stage Startup Offer With Bad Reviews — Worth Taking?
Hey folks—need some honest feedback.
I’ve been offered a Founder’s Office role at a Tech startup based in Bengaluru. Compensation is ₹11 LPA fixed + ₹1 LPA variable (performance based).
My previous role was ₹12 LPA fully fixed in an ed-tech startup in Delhi NCR, so I’m not hung up on comp.
But the catch?
• Online reviews (Glassdoor, AmbitionBox) are very bad. •High attrition, especially in FO roles. •Culture seems intense, not founder-friendly. •Employees leaving in <6 months.
Is it worth joining for a short execution sprint just to get exposure? Or does this sound like a long-term risk even short-term risk?
Would love your take. Anyone been in a similar spot?

An org with poor Glassdoor reviews usually has much worse culture so I'd steer clear. Do you want to use this offer to switch careers to Founder's Office? Only consider if that's your reason.
12LPA in NCR is not the same as 12LPA in BLR. Bengaluru is much more expensive so while you may not be too concerned of the pay, be realistic about the expenses and reconsider.

I have around 2 yrs of exp, 1.5 yrs at Finance GCC, rest in FO role at Ed-tech Startup. Getting into FO not the aim, but yes, since it's a tech startup, it's exp may help me further in my career.

Wait for a better role. No two ways around it. If the culture is bad, you won't be able learn either.
