My layoff journey
I recently posted about an offer I closed with a fantastic hike, some folks asked me to share my experience in this duration. Sharing a link of the doc, so that some of the steps which I took and got some offers can also help in your job hunt journey.
Feel free to comment, I am open to share info which can help others.

Congratulations man. What was your profile and yoe as it was not clear from the doc?

I feel YOE and my profile info was not useful to add in doc, I have 13YOE and I am from Customer Service operations.

Are you a consultant?

Completely agreed Naukri FF is a scam

@Beep Man, I am tired of handling rejection 😪
I layedoff 4,5 months ago and in my intial interview I didn't perform well because of lack of preparation but like In recent months I have improved my knowledge, like I have prepared leetcode q for SQL,etc and after giving so much time in prep I feel that I can win interview now, but I didn't understand why evertime there will be some new set of questions asked and some more advanced than my yoe like I am 1.5 yoe...
Even I have answering 70,80% correctly still getting the mails "we move forward with other candidates " It's so much now🫤

Okay sure I am checking the document and I am aware of this youtuber thanks for sharing

Great post @Beep - definitely will help calm down a laid off mind and get everything organised. We need more such posts to make GV more incredible.

Whats the CTC you bagged if I may ask ?

Keeping these things limited as of now, hope you understand the confidentiality part which employers enforce.
@Beep you may not know but you're a social worker too. Amazing doc. I'm sure it's gonna help a lot of people sail through tough times. Bookmarking the link just in case.

How did you apply for EU based company?

I used Linkedin search string “hiring” AND “Title/role”, found posts from hiring managers and reached out to them via InMail. That company was also open to sponsor, you will have to find it according to ur needs, there are lot of EU countries where they are inviting people from other countries due to shortage of Tech/skilled people.

@Beep hey your real name is exposed in the shared doc link.

Any suggestions on how to hide the name.

See if there's a publish option in the docs

What a lovely journey Thanks for sharing this 💪

🤘🏻 godspeed
