Any Vipassana Meditators here?
Would love to connect and discuss a few important things. Please mention how long you have been into this.
I am 24F, went to Vipassana to get clarity on various aspects of life. Physically and mentally I am absolutely healthy. Assuming that the ones who are reading this are aware of what Vipassana is.

What Changed -
I did feel lonely, cried sometimes felt like running out. I even talked to the Guruji about letting me go. I had seen a lot of videos before going which mentioned that you will have all these feeling, but just don’t quit.
Didn’t talk about technique or 10 day schedule since that is v much available over internet. If anyone in the Grapevine community is interested to know more, I am happy writing more about it. Overall please do visit the camp whenever you get a chance, actually as early as possible.
“Bhavtu Sabba Mangalam”
I had a horrible experience in Vipassana, I quit the program in 5 days
I had a full blown psychotic episode and started to see and hear things. Vipassana can bring up your deep suppressed traumas to surface, so go there with that caution in mind
Yes that’s true. Suppressed traumas do surface. The situation you were in is rare though that it goes to this extent. But I have heard such cases and the key is that you stay strong, trust the process, tell everything to you Guruji and complete the course. And after that you feel very free.
LMAO, and you are a project manager? In any case you are in EY?
Did you take 10days of office leaves?
Haha, from job pov it’s a different scenario. You can say that I am jobless because of certain situation.
Can you please tell me as how to join this camp
Google “Vipassana your city”. website link will come up.
I used to do it regularly for a month after the 10 day course. Then got occupied and now I rarely do it.
Try to include it in your daily schedule, so the benefits continue 🙂
looks like a paid review
No, I did it for free.
When the entire 10 day course is free of charge, how can it be a paid review????
Any particular type of person you wouldn’t recommend vipassana?
It’s for everyone and everyone must go learn Vipassana and practice it daily in their lives.
Someone who is practising Reiki should not go. And if you are practising any other meditation technique, you will have to stop it for those 10 days. Plus, since I practice pranayama, kumbhak shouldn’t be practiced while doing Vipassana, rest all pranayama we can do.
I also recommend it highly. I went to the center in Navi Mumbai.
My life changed completely after that I am more happy today with a lot of acceptance for everything. I did it two years back and I still feel calmness. My anxiety completely went away.
A part of my brain rewired probably.
You still do it daily? And any other form of practice that you are doing apart from Vipassana?
Not everyday but whenever I get time, I just do watching my breath exercise, similar to it was taught in Vipassana.
COVID 19 introduced me to this. I had much much time. And I was exploring meditations. Though I heard it before from my friends, they couldn't persuade me. I was not sure what it was. I thought it was just one of the ways to meditate. And I left it there.
During COVID 19 when I was exploring meditations I stumbled upon Vipassana by Goenka. And at that time I was also reading voraciously on subjects that interested me. One of the topics was understanding human history properly (actually evolutionary biology) and I wanted to start somewhere very basic, and started reading Yuval Harari's books. Then this guy, Yuval, also talked about Vipassana in one of his interviews and it was a coincidence that I was exploring Goenka's Vipassana and this guy too. It was like some special moment. So I dug deep into Vipassana.
While I practiced it at home during lockdown. I still wish to go on that 10 day Vipassana in their center outside the city in the serenity. I hope the time comes sooner.
All the best!
I did this back in 2019, even though i don't do it regularly it definitely changed my life for sure. I am more confident than ever before
So glad to know that.
Congratulations, it's not easy to complete that course. Sometimes you feel happy, sometimes sad and many times boring, but you feel the happiness at the end of the course.
Yes, that’s correct. Thankyou. As i said, multiple times i felt like giving up
Yes, I am aware of those feelings too, I completed my course last year. For me it 4-5 day, but then it got easy :)
