Moving to Tier 3 for saving and slow pace life……..

Hi Guys,

I am senior dev with 10+ yrs of experience. I am working remotely for last 3 yrs. I want to move to my hometown which is tier 3 city. The main purpose of moving is because my daughter can have company of my parents, saving money and slow pace life.

The infra, schools and hospitals here are better then what i get in my area in Pune

Has anyone moved to tier 3 cities in case of remote job? How has been experience so far?

My only fomo is that what in the future i need to switch, will i be able to find the remote job easily? How hard it is to find the remote job?

There was a lot of interruptions from neighbours . No privacy I guess. But it's how things are there. You can't change it.

I have also done it 4 years back, and continuing in same company without much issues. Can't tell you the peace of mind and the fun I missed all these years of my native, with parents, my daughter enjoying time with them, few childhood friends and yes slow pace life. Not thinking much of future, just enjoying the moment as of now. Remote jobs are not easy but i am fine till I feel the need to change the company.

What's stopping everyone from working in a Tier 2 or tier 3 city?

I know a lot of companies are hiring for roles with competitive offers that are in sync with Bengaluru, Pune, Gurgaon, Chennai, and Hyderabad. Why not stay away from metros given the right opportunities? Would love to hear your thoughts.
