Microsoft hiring Indians to challenge Nvidia

Started my morning with this episode of a business podcast. Surprised to find out how Microsoft is hiring thousands of Indian engineers for a division called Silicone Hardware.

Digging in, you find out they've released two new chips to challenge Nvidia's monopoly. And most of the Indian engineers will be working on the low-stakes 'verification' stage of a chip.

The joke? Nvidia is simultaneously working on serverless APIs to remove dependence on Azure and AWS.

Exciting times ahead.
