The fact that Mck tried to cover up its name in investigation is sad

They paid in 8 digits for this.
Just see the logo and tagline of leftist Indian Express

Corporate can never be trusted. I read somewhere on twitter that “You are just a resource for your company”. Companies literally don’t give damn about employee mental health. So sad to hear this.

And it was due to work pressure. I hope McKinsey reconsiders their practices if they can get somebody to this point. Fuck this.

Wtf. I knew work pressure was bad but this is extremely sad. Om Shanti.

I admire Management Consultants! This is truly saddening. How do others manage that kind of pressure ?

lolz its that admiration which led him to suicide

My admiration doesn’t me that I consider them as robots. They’re humans after all. I am pretty sure if I ask a Management Consultant that same question, they will tell me to manage the stress, instead of joking about it.

It’s crazy how so many of us venerate McKinsey, but the sad ground reality that comes with a fat pay check is extreme pressure, long working hours and erratic travel schedules that screw up your health to an irreversible extent. Very sad.

McKinsey is a choice and not a compulsion. So instead of blaming McKinsey we should blame the choices people make. I am also from the same college and we do know of the options and the costs attached to it. There are several roles with decent WLB.
While Mck can provide a better work culture, it is us who push it further by prioritising the brand above all.

I don't think the company should really be absolved of guilt because the individual "made a choice". Everyone has different aspirations and everyone is really just hustling to be able to make it there
One can sign up for a job with low WLB - but there must definitely be something extreme at play for it to really escalate to this level, no? Nobody really ever chooses that.

I agree. Hence I said blaming Mck for this doesn't make sense.
There can be other factors we aren't aware of.

Irony is today folks say it's sad ...then from tomorrow apply in bulk in same company
