Making the highest salary of my life and feeling absolutely broke
Earning a top 1% CTC in this city is like winning a lottery where the prize money is directly deposited to your landlord. 23-year-old me would look at my current CTC and think I’m living like an absolute king. But it also has its BIG wins:
- You will never feel the burden of wealth. You'll never feel too rich. 65k vanishes on rent for a mediocre 2BHK. Your landlord will kindly ensure your bank account stays humble.
- No more cooking decisions. Who needs to cook when you have zero energy after 10 hours at work? Swiggy and Zepto will graciously take another 20k from you because boiling water feels like an extreme sport.
- You get free cardiovascular workout (Dhuk Dhuk.. lubdub lubdub.. you get the hint) every time you check your credit card statement after a weekend dinner at an average place that cost 3k minimum.
- You will be one of those few who will experience the joy of acting as a literal routing channel. The money hits your payroll account and immediately auto-debits to city landlords and overhyped cafes. You are just a middleman in your own life.
- You will be trained to live in real-time financial surveillance, where all your salary hikes are monitored by your broker and immediately matched by rent hikes - you could be a contestant tomorrow on Shark Tank if you like getting your net worth diluted to zero
- You would be the elite few who will get to experience saving the exact same absolute amount you did 3 years ago on half the CTC
- By the time the month ends, you’ll have a black belt in financial gymnastics trying to justify where it all went
- By the time the month ends, your wallet would have lost weight
- You will see increased commitment to work: You will sleep less, You will turn up to office on time, will work more just to afford the EMI of a lifestyle you don't even have time to enjoy
- With constant inflation and lifestyle creep, you’ll soon wonder "where did the money go" "why is the math not mathing anymore" "why are we paying 500 for a coffee" "why is everything" - first step of higher level consciousness

65k for 2BHK?? BLR Or Mumbai?

BLR. Rent is just crazy these days. Add taxes and basic lifestyle inflation, and there is barely anything left to save.

I think you are staying in some super luxury location man..65k for 2bhk seems to be too high..anything up to 50 is reasonable.
