Looking for competent engineers for friendship
Where do I find people doing core work and cool af stuff, basically the 10x engineer from the POV of average engineer?
I have no outlet to nerd about IRL, just sometimes online. It's lonely towards the top. WFH doesn't help.
I'm not even asking for a girl man, I just want people who know their shit inside out, can follow my train of thought or nerdiness, and I can learn from them. (Though a girl like that would be a bonus...)

you're not lonely because of wfh, you're lonely because your peer group shrinks the better you get. the top of the ladder has less room. the people you're looking for aren't hiding, they're just distributed. they're arguing about compiler flags in the bengaluru systems meetup or maintaining a niche library on github that only 200 people use. you have to go to where the work is, not where the people are. your tribe is out there, but they don't hang out on the main road.

Just post on the social app that you have some time to kill and put some effort into someone's project if they can convince it's worth in the long term and see how many reach out to you. Find the right one and start becoming friends.

So I was brainstorming today and wondered if we could build a 'Bank for Trading Personal Time' (might sound stupid, then genius if you understand paper money is basically the same thing, then again foolish if you start thinking about how it will work)... Anyone who is ready to be more stupider than me and wants to spend some constructive creativity time, DM me.
