leaving a job without any offer

Will it create problems in my future applications if I leave a job without any offers in hand.

I joined this company as a software engineer. Now, The current employer is expecting me to work on AI stuff (I don't have any idea how to progress). Also the work here isn't exciting anymore.

I am planning to leave and prepare myself for my next job while living a relaxed life ( I feel like I'm wasting my time here). They have long working hours with useless work at all.

How difficult is it to find a job with gaps in your profile? I have done this in the past and want to do this again
