It's actually true. I was earlier in finance role so I think from an roi point of view. A lot of PMing has been glorified in past few years. Even the work of IT dept has been renamed as PM. Simply creating Jira, arranging meetings btwn ppl is stupid work, and bound to be extinct at some point. Most PMs have neither dev, design, business knowledge. Somewhere a person has to bring hard skills. I think that's why Airbnb got done with the role. Some are merging into Dev, design or Marketing dept.
