Job switching to another domain

I’ve decided to pursue a career as a Data Analyst and while browsing online and on job portals, I see common skill requirements like SQL, Power BI, Tableau, etc. However, I would really like to hear from people who are currently working as Data Analysts about what real projects look like in the industry, what the actual day-to-day work involves, and which skills truly matter on the job. I’m also looking for advice on how to approach a career switch into this role in a practical way, as my goal is to secure a Data Analyst position by March. Any real-world insights or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Now most important thing-
Choose the industry wisely. Meaning if you’re interested in finance sector - prefer similar client or if you have interest in health, prefer health . Likewise-find your choice of industry as well. You don’t have to be right in first attempt. Explore—if you like—continue—if not—switch to different industry/use case. Selecting your industry is important, because basic will remain same and if you are able to understand the industry in depth (sort of SME), you will rock in this field

The “choose the industry wisely” point was really helpful this isn’t mentioned much anywhere. I’ll look into it. Also, can you explain how and what to study for those industries, the depth of knowledge needed, and suggest some good online learning resources?
