There have been so many openings lately and I have applied to a bunch with product team referrals but haven't heard from them even once.
(Ex-Unicorn PM with 2.5+ yrs experience applying for PM - 1 / APM -2 roles)
Stay away from Meesho period.
Was evaluating the company sometime back as I had got an offer there but heard from people that the culture is bad especially in product with people who have no real product experience (i.e. consultants) in the product team at senior level. The promotions in product in Meesho have a negative correlation with merit and are solely based on licking.
All good people in product have left or are on notice and that is the real reason they are hiring.
With 2.5+ yoe in product you shouldn't settle for an APM2 role, just my opinion
Yeah but I would still interview given the chance because there are so few unicorn openings at the moment.
Another problem is that I started working before graduation (thanks to online classes during the pandemic). Seems like no company beyond Series A treats that as real experience.
Why not? Even I did internship before graduation and I show it as full time experience only.
But agree to your point, there are barely any product openings in good company and then the conversion rate isn't good either due to skew in demand and supply
