See glance as an advertising means seems very flimsy to me. I presume most of the clicks from glance are accidental. I mean do you even enable glance on your phones (rotating lock screen theme) and there they insert ads. Doesn't go down my throat easily that many people will be using this feature and this may close soon.
I don't think glance has any future. Do discuss this point with the person who interviewed you.
