Is a Tier 1 MBA needed for a PM role ?

For anyone graduating from a tier 1 college in undergrad and have a job in Software engineering / Customer Success/ Product success/ Product consulting , is a tier 1 MBA worth it if you want to pivot to Product Management.

Is it true that all the top PM roles are taken by people who have a tier 1 MBA?

A Tier 1 MBA definitely helps you get your foot in the door when you don't have relevant PM experience. But it starts to matter less as you grow in your career. If you can transition internally into a PM/APM role in your org, you dont need an MBA
