Is 42 LPA a good offer for YoE - 5 yrs?
Hey Folks, I hope you all are doing extremely well.
Wanna get some idea about market pay and the hike I’m getting in a e-commerce company.
Worked as a DevOps/Software Engineer for 5 yrs and CCTC is around 30-32 LPA. New company is ready to offer around 42.
Is it good offer or should I check for more companies?
I know some startup’s are paying like anything and this offer seems to be trivial for 5 yrs experience, but just wanted to know if I should be pursuing this offer or not?
Thanks in advance folks, Have fun! 🤩

Do you think your skills deserve more based on the market rate? If yes, you should ask them for more based on research

Thanks for the reply. I’m a little bit confused on the market ranges for SRE, so wanted to get more eyes on this so that I can make a good decision

Pretty good

U are going good, I have 13YOE and touched this comp in my recent job. I am from Customer operations and trust me this is really good.

break down for this compensation?

Total in hand

Given the market, its a good offer.
It is good in the current market conditions.
However you can still keep checking for more companies while you are on notice period if you want.
Just ensure to not ghost any company on your joining day, inform them in advance about your decision.

Get mba.. then 55 plus

It totally depends on the company. If it is big organisation, then they definitely have pay scales for every role. HR never cross that band. If it is a startup, then it depends on the requirements they have and the skills you have and how much funds the company has. If the company got funding recently, then you can ask for more CTC. Other way is you can check it in levels fyi or by posting the company name.
