Indian Airlines: Tier List đ«
-
Tier 1 (Should Book These): Vistara (for comfort, feels, food) Indigo (for being cost effective, on time, no frills)
-
Tier 2 (Doable): Air India (some planes are good now, but still inconsistent) Spicejet (if you are in luck, it's not too bad anymore)
-
Tier 3 (I Don't Value My Life) Air India Express (fka Air Asia - avoid for life) Akasa (it's a great flight, as long as you assume your takeoff is at T+2 hours by default)
Feel free to opine but this is how it is. I fly every month and have done so for years now. Hope this helps before you book for Diwali.

Completely incorrect analysis imo. My tiers:
- Vistara
- Air India
- Air Asia
- Indigo
- Akasa
- Air india express
- Spicejet

Mostly aligned except do not ever put Air Asia on 3 It is GENUINELY a dangerous carrier to take
Known security protocol flaws. In some proper companies, it's on the debarred list, agents would never book a Air Asia.

And it's not an analysis, just personal experience :)

indigo and on time together in a single sentence đ tell us what youâre smoking OP

I know what you're talking about There have been hurdles lately
But tbh, I've taken Indigo and Vistara almost once each month for several months, Vistara is more likely to start later.

You can check the Airline reports on tardiness. Indigo has a historically least number of delays compared to any other airline ever. So no. He ain't smoking anything. You are maybe.

Spicejet should be at last. They are just horrible. Donât ever book if you are to be in time critical

How is SpiceJet in tier 2? Both Akasa and AIX are better than them. I have never boarded a SpiceJet flight which isnât delayed. Have decided to just not book now.

Only indigo seems to have survived the test of time.. I liked Vistara but they have very few flights and routes in comparison. Spice jet I avoid like the plauge

Aligned 100%

Spoke too soon I guess.. Looks like Indigo is either slipping or becomming complacent. Last 2 indigo flights I took this week were both late by almost an hour and to add insult to injury they had turned the AC off in one of them. It was cooler outside when we landed in B'luruđ¶âđ«ïž

There should be a separate Tier 4 for Spicejet
