I lose context during calls
Hi,
I lose context and what is being discussed during meetings or calls, as if I have less attention span.
In English language this issue is more dominant but it used to happen with me with Hindi also, I just lose context, my brain automatically consider everything said by other person as Garbage and does not register it or try to form a context.
Also, my communication skills are not that great in both languages especially in English, most of the time while speaking with other person I am also nervous and this leads me to blaber anything.

A few suggestions -
- Prepare before your meetings - understand the agenda
- Keep a notepad with you and write small points regarding what is being discussed - classic style MOM
- Read something daily - books, newspapers, articles, docs - and try to recall it once done.
- Have discussions with your colleagues or mentor people - basically build communication - this will help with speaking skills, context building and focus on the topic at hand.
- For the work you do, write your own docs - would help in making it easier for you to talk about your work in meetings/discussions, as well as highlight what you want to put forward/discuss about.
These should slowly help train your brain to pay attention, focus and retain information.

This is like typical Context rot issue which happens with LLMs. Your brain’s LLM seems to have similar Context rot issue. May be try mitigating it the same way they try to mitigate LLMs’ context rot/loss issue!!

This is not a problem. Something that you can fix by your own practice. Be focused, determined, confident while you are in conversations.

Listening to podcasts or reading for 30 mins to 1 hrs would help increase attention span. Would suggest to stop scrolling social media apps. They really take a bite on attention.
Nothing some shock therapy with a toaster and some water won't fix.

I suffer from the context loss too
