How to retire early?
I'm tired of my software engineering career, and I'm sick of working towards creating wealth for billionaire company owners and shareholders in this capitalist system.
So I want to retire early from this corporate grind. I'm in my late 30s, single, and have about Rs. 40 lakhs in savings.
I know that 40 lakh can't last forever, so I'm okay with doing some bit of part-time non-corporate work for earning a bit every month to survive - like driving Uber, teaching tuitions, being a night security guard where I can sit at a desk and read books, or doing part time barista at coffee shop, or bartender at a bar, etc.
Basically, rotate through these different kinds of part-time work every month, for a bit of survival income.
I want to live alone in semi-retired life (so no PG and no flatmates or roommates).
For meals, I can sometimes eat for free at langars or bhandaras at gurudwaras or temples, to save money.
Can you please give other tips and suggestions how to live frugally in India?
What part of India can I go and live frugally, in a semi-retired lifestyle for the rest of my life?

I would say take leave without pay for 3-6 months. Live off of your savings. See how you feel without a regular income.
Try a week of manual labour and see how that makes you feel…
If you still feel the same way as you do now, then quit.
Don’t rush into something that you’ll regret afterwards…
Saying eating at langers, doing odd jobs….this ain’t US, it’s rough out here in India…

Good take

Bhai ne backchodi or reality mein farak samjha diya ,good comment

For even Coast Fire, You need a crore or two

I'm completely burnt out. I can't work any more in this software engineering grind to save that much. I have to do with whatever I have

Bro if u are single then few lakh savings are even enough..... Live ur life u wanted to ..do chores for few months save money... go on trip make travel blogs.. repeat cycle..... Or go to remote places of mountains with less settlement interact with locals learn their lifestyle and repeat... Or do social work etc
If u will listen to the society u will never be free... There will always be someone earning more than u living a better lifestyle than u.. but one thing that u can manifest for yourself is happiness something that is really missing in urban life ...
Focus on happiness and money won't be a problem at all..
For More gyan 😂 DM

Sorry to be harsh but this part time work that you will do will also create wealth for respective business owners.
You are very privileged and living in denial of that. Not saying you should remain stuck but this is not the way out.
Use this privilege to find something that feels like work to others but is play for you. Feel free to do whatever you want then . This discovery is not going to happen by itself and will require several highly contentious and grueling blocks of time.

Yes, but helping out a local small business owner survive and thrive, is better than making billionaires even richer, IMO

Doob Maro saale🤣🤣 instead of asking/discussing here ask your family, your heart and then take a decision !! Every job is difficult- why are you thinking so much about owners or share holders, hope you are being paid fairly, company make billion - they just can’t give billion to you, neither you will give if you are sometime become owner or own a company !!

Uski family nhi hai...akela h bechara

Then first make a family - find a good girl, everything will be good or take big loan then you will not think leaving job ever until it is clear and the same job you will enjoy ☺️ jokes apart, you have to learn the art to work in corporate culture - do not overthink that you have to generate wealth for the company , do not love over integrate with the company, give more priority to your personal life - family, just love your job and see if you are underpaid or paid fairly, because money is the key factor in corporate jobs…. If you are still want to early retired then start exploring other options like investment in properties, equity or open a small pakoda shop near by these big tech campus, or go to a small city or town, find some work there !! Even then if you are not having satisfaction then go to HILL and do Tapasya alongside river with some BABAs - i hope you can find the ultimate peace and satisfaction - chances are you may get ultimate enlightenment which can turn your life into some meaningful purpose !! Go to Rishikesh - lot of foreigners are living BABAs life !! Like IIT Baba😊

1)Immediately resign the job and go on a trip.
2)Consult a Financial advisor whether to invest your money in SIP or SWP. (This step is important)
3) Life is too short, Enjoy your life as how you want to.

I need a full-time maid, are you available ?

Thanks for the offer. I'm a man, though

I always wanted to do this i am in early 30's and already tired ; feeling like my life has better meaning than this everyday job and living only on weekends but my mom says I have to get married , after that she says I can leave the job but I think it's a trap
But I trust her more than I trust myself so I will follow her to the ends of the earth
But again I love driving 🚗 like cars mostly bikes but idk I have like 2 crs already with me
I have not saved anything so far neither I contributed in anything of the above amount and no that's not the total that's just what I think I should get eventually, but I don't want to use it even in rainy days
Nutshell if I am keep pushing 🫸 I am on brink of breaking apart literally but no option and when this discussion opens up my parents are everyone is not only doing it but excelling enjoying and earning way more the least you can do it stick along but not sure
Your post is really something that I can't even imagine idk if I helped you in anything but this post I am going to save and follow up 🙃🫠

I think you're in a dangerous path. You don't want to blame your mom for decisions in later part of your life. Take charge now and own your own decisions

Can start a small business in Kerela, Uttarakhand or Himachal for peace

Life happens once. Dont postpone living with fear of future. Take the advantage of being single and explore life
