Hey Folks, I’m in a phase where I have decided to move out from my present company. My present company is very dear to me as it gave me the taste of what success looks like. Honestly, I would have never made it had I not received the support and backing that I got here.
I don’t know if I am making the correct decision. Emotions are literally overflowing. One side of mine tells me that I am making the wrong decision whereas the other side is excited to see what future holds for me.
Literally anxious of all the thoughts that are crossing my mind. What if , I am not able to perform at my next company ? What if , they decide to hire me and then not honour their offer letter ? What if, the company has a mass layoff and I am impacted ?
All these thoughts are literally eating me from inside. Any suggestions on how can I handle the same ?
This is such a wholesome emotion. You are not doing anything wrong. Growth makes things uncomfortable because you are leaving your cocoon. Next job may or may not be as great, but you will learn so much on your journey.
Plus, great companies are made by great people. Keep in touch with your present colleagues beyond this transition. Hold on to all the best people you find along the way!

It's a business, and it goes both ways. You do what's necessary, just as they do.

Know that you are only human and it is okay to experience these emotions. Why are you working? For glory, for family, for money or for the country?

I know how this feels, i had similar feeling when i was deciding for the first move, my manager at that time told me that never make this decision emotionally, do whatever you have to for the growth and you can stay in touch with people if you feel emotionally or personally connected.
And at the end, i am sure you would be glad that you took the move, because the growth you get by switching is never same as staying in same company for a long, and that's the bottom line truth my friend.
So with a heavy heart, go ahead and rest will figure out itself. Best of luck

Well, have a conversation with someone senior in your company, maybe your boss or his boss - someone who knows how good you are. Tell them that you are leaving to gain more experience. But you'd also like to return in the future. Perhaps then that person can reassure you: yeah, of course, just let us know, we'll accommodate you somehow, without an interview, etc.
Does that happen @RagePank ? Do companies accommodate people like without an interview ? How does that work ? Like you call up your boss and say , I want to come back ? And he arranges the stuff for you ?
I know these are a lot of questions but since I am a noob in switching , was not aware of, this is also something people do .
Yeah, it can happen, if you know someone senior, and they already know how capable you are. They can hire you back in their team, or can put in a strong word for you in another team.
People need to step out of their comfort zone in order to grow... and moreover if u are able to get a job in this market after stepping out of your secure job... your confidence will be next level

That's a very normal feeling. I got similar feelings some instances like, on the last day of school, last day of college, moving from one PG to another (the next building), leaving a city after getting transferred, etc
And of course, leaving a job, even switching to another project/team within the company. My voice was shaking when talking to colleagues at a meeting on the last day 😂.
