Focus on case studies. Show your process, not just pretty mockups
Tailor portfolio to job you want. E-comm cos want e-comm projects etc
Contribute to open source projects. Real-world experience matters
Include variety. Show different skills - UI, UX research, branding etc
Quality > Quantity. 3-4 solid projects better than 10 mediocre ones
