How to break into UI/UX these days?

Hey guys I need your help. My girlfriend was pursuing upsc for 4 years, but after disappointing years, she's now thinking of breaking into the UI/UX field. She has a computer science background and then did a masters in psychology. If you guys can share what the UI/UX guys demand these days ?

  1. Are these degrees enough to attract recruiters to get some interviews?
  2. Do you think courses and design diplomas would help to get started? There's this 5 month diploma program from IIT, do such programs help ?
  3. Please share any advice that might help her get her foot in the door

Could you ask her to start getting active on Twitter (buy premium), with her work, especially videos of improved interactions or case studies. She might get noticed.

Ok, you think Twitter would be better than LinkedIn for building visibility ? I've never used twitter like this so not sure.

Why your gf wants to get into one of the most easily replaceable field by AI.

She has always been interested in arts. Also she studied psychology and computer science, I think these 3 make a good combo for the UX understanding. And for the "easily replaceable" part, this is debatable. I wouldn't say that UX is easier to replace than a junior frontend developer. I believe all the software fields are evolving, and so is UX.

Why not explore options related to psychology?

There were two directions after her masters, one to practice psychology, which she tried but didn't like and another to study further and go for research, which would take a lot of time before she starts earning, she wants to be financially independent as soon as she can, given all the upsc mess.
She has interests in arts and a lot of people in UX have a psychology background, so UI/UX she thinks would be the shortest path to money.
