how to bag that remote US company you want

previous post got a lot of questions about how i got the US based remote job so answering here

tldr; starting early + skills + X + luck

i have to clarify that i want to remain anonymous BUT i am open to share in the DMs (i can only reply to some of them, they are a lot, sorry)

i got into programming at 16 and started freelancing at 18 then joined a tier 3 college for bca

why? so that i can get time for my products, i tried building my own startup 3x and failed

joined some small startups (gained 3 years of professional experience just after a year of graduation)

with all that experience of going 0-1 i started DMing CEOs and CTOs of top US startups on X

was just lucky enough to get 5 interviews after 102 DMs

tech stack: web technologies + node + go or whatever is required to achieve goals lol

people focus too much on stacks and front/back sides to stuff

the truth is it does not matter to the business, they want to achieve a goal, help them with that

Thanks for sharing your experience, really inspiring, Do you believe that Gen AI like ChatGPT is reducing the market value of Programmers like you ?

Tbh very true. Tech stack doesn't matter, we live in an era of agentic ai. The llm's are powerfully trained they are enough to take help from if you how to ask basically and that context is what computer science engineering is all about. Sure you need to know the fundamentals I'll say! You should have a go getter attitude meaning once you sit on your laptop you should not get up untill and unless you have done that thing. I have coded for 12 14 hours with breaks in between , the stuff hackathons teaches you, all these matter a lot, basically if you have that junoon to build something from scratch you'll be successful in life. And no I'm not saying to become a code monkey and rote code that's not how it works! Especially not in these good companies. They want a thinker ,a problem solver.
DSA is necessary because it involves thinking for a solution!
I'd say designing systems designing databases solving problems such as handling throttling, what to do to handle millions of requests, how to set up your infra in such a manner. All these matter and this is where the problem solving mind comes into action!
