SIMPL in Crisis?
heard that they are burning a lot in funding discounts on D2C websites they work with to retain them. BNPL is also not doing too well.
First, how is a BNPL company surviving? They are hiring. How is the culture there? Anyone knows?
They laid off folks 3 months back. One of my friends who was a top performer was laid off
Damn. What was the reason given to him/her? How and why the fuck are they hiring again?
Only answer that comes to my mind is that they pivoted to a new model and got fresh expertise to move in that space.
They hired a acquaintance of mine a few months ago and now he is hiring for his team.
Could also be hiring folks at lesser CTC for same posts
Know a couple of folks who were laid off 6months post joining. They were in Product, Not good feedback. Company doesn’t have a vision and went on a hiring spree as soon as they closed the last funding round and later laid off a lot of those hires.
And they are hiring again. Interesting 🤨
I interviewed, the hiring manager was too arrogant to listen to your choices in terms of problem solving and also how you manage to get a great jump in a career, red flag for me gonna interview in future just for practice nothing else
I got rejected in last round by Director of Engineering, not sure what he wanted to listen out of me
Clueless management on the business model
Also senior management is enjoying vacation there with less work and extra perks

Heard they first layoff, then do increment and take left over employees on international offsites.
Is the company surviving?
