I would say not all IIT's and IIM's are tire one, BITS Pillani is way better than most of the new IIT'S, same is the case for XLRI , SP Jain only the old IIM's can be labelled as Tier 1 the new ones need to catch up

Tier 1(Engineering): IISc, IITs, BITS, IIIT Hyderabad, IIIT Allhabad, few top NITs, IIST

Is IIST really that good?🤔tough to gauge given all graduating students have a contract with for a few years afaih. Not sure about other aspects.

There are central universities as well, beyond this. Where do they go?

I am not aware of them. Can you please specify

DU has engineering, Jadavpur is another one. They have great placement records or kids go on to do better in life

Also clear and concise, loved it

IIITS and BITS in the same breath as VIT and below NITs. Damn bro! Thora disconnect toh reality se.

ISB is tier 1 and same as IIM ABC in both rankings and placement scenes.

Several IIITs are sought over many NITs.
The top IIITs are clearly tier-1, just as much as not all NITs are tier-1.

Depending on competitiveness and admission rates, colleges are categorised into tiers. Some examples of college tiers are:
Tier 1: Colleges that are highly competitive with less than 10% acceptance rates. Tier 1 colleges include IITs, IIMs, NITs and NLUs. These colleges are also known for their comprehensive curriculum, best-in-class faculty, top-notch infrastructure and other facilities.
Tier 2: Colleges that have a lesser degree of competitiveness compared to Tier 1 institutes. Tier 2 colleges in India are IIEST Shibpur and BIT Meshra.
Tier 3: Colleges that are good and have more spaces with fewer applicants, ensuring less competition in admission. In India, the Tier 3 colleges include Amity University, Chandigarh University, VIT Vellore and more.

For Top tier MBA Colleges:
