How do I land a remote job?

I see multiple folks posting about remote jobs with $100,000+ packages while working from India. Is it really possible?

Can anyone share their personal experience on how they landed a high paying remote job?

There is a bit more to it than just Open Source, a lot of doesn't get touched upon. It's easier to get a remote job if you already have experience working for a MNC known for tech.
