It is okay as long as your manager is okay with this.

Everyone in our team used to follow this due to our manager, but I know teams which don't follow a 4 day office policy.

HR will not send mail for not following policy?

As long as you are going to the office frequently (2-3) times in a week it should be okay. I haven't heard anyone getting emails from HR for this violation.

How many days are you planning to WFO in a week?

Actually my manager got the mail like I am not following the rules. I went to the office 3 days for two weeks and the rest of the week I went 4 days.

I don't know how they are tracking.

If your manager has received the mail then it is better to follow 4 days WFO otherwise it will unnecessarily cause disciplinary issues.

I have been doing this whenever I go to my hometown and most of my friends did this too. I used to tell my manager beforehand that I will be WFH for 1-2 days.

Seems like they are getting stricter now.
