Have you brought insurance from them ? If yes then which one?

It'll be most likely HDFC / Care Supreme

Take it from PSU firms. When you search from policybazaar, their telecalling agents will prod you to buy HDFC Ergo which is notorious for partial payment of high-value claims.

Star health. Has good coverage and auto reloading of the insured amount. Affordable insurance with a good insured amount

This is the first time I took it. Haven’t made any claims yet. But yeah, a few of my friends have got HDFC Ergo, heard that’s good too

Generally u r working company provides it checki if u could use that and while taking new dedicatied health insurance outside it might help u to waive off waiting periods.
Take health insurance seperate for parents dont include that with u nd ur wife if u married. Speak with ditto and policy bazar both will have different types of polices and models
Just look for no co payment shud be there like 100% insurer pays u and no room rent limit and increasing bonus every year like these and check for claim settlement ratio just talk with u local known hospitals like how these companies are giving claims these will helpu

You should take a family floater for them both and not include you in it. The sum insured must be atleast 25 lakhs. Better if 30 lakhs. You won't need more than that. Don't fall for all the super topups, 1 cr plans.

  1. HDFC ERGO - Get optima restore or optima secure. But only if you are able to continue for the long term because they hike their premiums each year by 15-16k. If you think 5 years down the line it will be difficult for you to continue, then read below -

  2. ICICI Lombard - Get Health Advantedge. They will push you for health elevate but you wont need it mostly.

  3. TATA Aig medicare premier

  4. Aditya Birla One NXT

  5. PSU insurance (will edit this line and tell you exactly which one, later today)

These are your best bets. Never take star, care, Niva bupa

Hey, please update on the PSU, if you have any details..

Under PSU, take either of these 2 only -

  1. New India Assurance
  2. National Insurance

Many Factors decide Health Insurance Choice.
To choose the company the below needs to be checked

  1. Lowest Complaint rates among Competitors
  2. Highest Claim Ratio among competitors
  3. Amount of IRDA fines to be paid by the company.

To choose policy.

  1. No Room Rent Cap
  2. No Co-pay
  3. Base Insurance Policy amount around 25-50L based on budget
  4. Pre-existing disease waiting period.
  5. Check diseases not covered and sub-limits of specific diseases.
  6. Unlimited Claims (where the base amount gets re-adjusted after the claim to original 25-50L)
  7. For people around 50, check the policy disclosures for heart diseases and the procedures covered.
  8. Premium Lock-in check if the policy offers same premium for lifetime renewal.

If your mom is the same age or younger than your dad. Buy a single policy that covers both of them.
