Has the culture at all Indian companies become toxic because of the bad job market?
The leaders at these companies know that employees have limited avenues to return towards, so they are exploiting the employees?

The culture has always been toxic, people are talking more freely after covid. Earlier anyone who pointed the wrongs was looked down upon

Work culture in India has gone from bad to worse in the last 20 + years. Bosses want to become rich as early as possible. And workers are being seen as resources nothing more.
Compared to startup the work culture in established companies are better. I have worked in old companies like TML, where you may come across a bad boss but overall work culture and WLB is good. it's some of the the modern tech companies that are bad. Start-ups even worse.

All those glamorous start ups which raised money during covid were just a bunch of frauds...that's about it...dig deeper and you see high degree of mismanagement of funds and what not..once the funds dried out, their cloak was ripped apart and true culture was in front of all of us

Majorly in public companies or those getting ready to become public. I am guessing private ones arenโt that fazed if revenue is ok

No discrimination in that based on public or private

Completely agree with OP. My CEO said to my manager on the face that you dont have any attrition issues right now because of the market, but you might have them as soon as the market opens up.
No it's because they're Indian companies. Also because return to work is enforced in places like bangalore where commuting is a nightmare.

It was always toxic especially in certain startups where in the name of hustle, shoshan happens ๐. The examples have been there before covid and now too.

You know what's the solution for this? Unionisation Why it doesn't happen? I want to know, genuinely
