Hacks for getting WFH ?
I'm working in a place where they have a strict WFO policy 3 Days / Week. It's affecting my mental and physical health since I need to travel almost 2 hours daily to and fro. Moving closer to office is no option, since I live with my people here.
Can you suggest some solid ways / reasons using which I could get an extended WFH ?
I know, it's silly. But maybe there's a hack ?

Tech community has very low ethics in India. people so easily are ready to lie and deceive office. Look for different job if you don't like this office. There is always option to live near office, get a seperate place. Indians need to be ethical and not liers

Ethics for companies which layoff people without a hint and make you work on overlapping shifts just so the folks States don't have to wake up 2 hours early ? Ethics are to be set where they're honoured back. This is survival baby - Try petting a lion in the jungle.

Agreed man, so many people lying in resume, cheating in OA, memorising algorithms instead of fully understanding, no real passion for CS or learning, only passion is how to scam my way to 60 LPA . it’s a shitshow whenever I’ve had to take interviews.
However op feels we need to do whatever is necessary to “survive”

To all chatukars who are defending employers/companies, buddy u are just one layoff away to realise company ko ghnta farak nhi padta tumse...you are just a number that's it.

Exactly

No one is chatukaar, Everyone understands dude! It is just they have some ethics and morals.
And company bhi apni jagah theek hoti hai bro, lay off karegi hi jab loss hoga to. You, I or anyone will do the same. So stop cursing!

Chronic illness of a family member? Some illness/disease/defect due to which you have to assist a parent in their day to day activities?
It's not silly, btw — what's silly is not accommodating employees' needs, because of which they end up having to play this weird cat and mouse game to get wfh

Though I must also tell you that if granted, this arrangement might come with the catch that if everyone else is wfo, then there might be no guarantee how long it'll be before they force you back to office again. So just to be safe, keep looking for fully remote jobs on the side.

I have applied for one as my mother was suffering from liver chirosis I asked 6 months wfh...they gave one of my colleague wfh when her mother was not doing well... exactly in the 6th month I lost her...you will be on your own...nobody is going to take responsibility of it...I was highly disappointed with this behaviour of hr and top management...

Complete remote worker here:
- Work in web3 industry
- Don't work for Indian founders - Find startups from SEA/US who are looking to hire remote. Avoid Europe and Middle East, they'll never agree on WFH.
- Early stage startups are flexible about this policy.
- Be ready to compromise on salary, complete WFH saves a lot of money and health.

This is good advice - Thanks !

Greed never ends!
There are people who dreams to have sat-Sunday off, and then there are people who even do not want to go 3 days a week.
Dude you are already privileged! Having weekend offs, 2 days wfh, living with your family.
2 hour travel krna padta hai to mental health affect ho rhi hai. Wah!
Mental health ko majak bana rakha h tum logo ne.

Greed ? Bhai, scarcity se bahar nikaliye thoda. Kaunsa greed ? I come from a poor family and have a loan and responsibility for my parents over my head. Have zero money in the bank, living month to month. Thoda comfort kya maang liya, greedy ho gaye ?
Please note, the companies that you work in pay 10x salary to the people of your level who make a switch, or perhaps who work in the States.
You're satisfied in your life, well, congratulations! With all due respect, do not preach your holiness unto others.

I need Hacks for getting an interview call :)

If you are valuable enough to your team and leader try to get them to make an exception on some ground (health, family etc). If they don't care, look for another job

This is fair too

Fair advice.
