Got laid off for making an escalation to HR for suffering bullying & harassment at workplace

First rule of dealing with HR : HR is to protect employer’s interest and not the employee’s interest.

That's illegal, you can sue

HR is there to protect the company. They will fire you if you make them look bad. All that inclusion and safe workplace shit is bullcrap
