Got a formal Yes from amazon
I recently joined a startup as a SDE2 (2 months back). While interviewing at that time I also applied for amazon, which conducted its interviews just 2 weeks back and now I've been selected here. They'll easily pay more than my current org, but I worry if they'll see it as a red flag leaving within 2 mo ths. Also, I think I'll never mention this company on my resume but as of now, what to do with amazon. Had another set of questions:
- Not sure if its the right decision to switch.
- In casr I do decide to leave, what should I tell my current org?
- Is amazon as toxic as people say? Any guidance would be really appreciated. Thanks.
Just for context: current TC 44 pa (including esops) Amazon: TC/year would be around 60

Go for Amazon. Startups arenāt a place for tech folks to learn and grow. Unless the founders have worked in deep tech and are very good at it.
In startups, generally itās business first. Whereas in AMZ you can get great mentors.

Bounce bro my friend did the same, joined a GCC then Google offer came in, he told his current employer and everybody just understood coz obviously the brand and salary diff was 2x

Go for Amazon toxicity is everywhere but the learnings are great in Amazon.seen all my friends work on variety of latest technologies

Amazon is toxic yes.. Bad WLB yes... But if you want you can take chance... Let us know the outcome

Yes, one of my friend working and literally he frustrated in Amazon.

Amazon SDE-2 overall salary including bonus and stocks per year will 70 Lpa, I would have been tried even its a toxic placeš

Tell us more about your relationship with the current startup

Well for starters I just joined here 2 mo ths back. They're not saints, they fired 2 people on spot last week quoting underperformance. Team is chill. Getting holidays >2 days is hard. Its a hybrid workplace. Revenue wise its doing well. Tech Stack is MERN and honestly, its shit as of now, but one could see it as an opportunity as well. I'm still fairly new to say something deep about the product culture, bit its decent as much as I understand.

Can you explain me the interview process for experienced professionals? Also, how many months did you prepare DSA and SD ?

Honestly, I just winged the interviews since I recently got a job. But back then I prepared for 2 months, mostly LC mediums. Also, I already have a very strong grip on DSA since my college days, so this was more if a revision. I did have to focus on system design a lot this time. Companies including amazon, typically have 4 rounds for my experience, 2 DSA, LLD and HLD.
