A lot of these jobs will move to cheaper countries, they wonโ€™t be completely scraped. India should benefit

This trend has played out time to time interest rate increased, global crisis hit ~> outsourced to India. Covid and remote work just fast forwarded it.

India is no more cheap, we have new team mates from Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam in APAC, from Poland & Romania in EU. This is happen with us in next 4-7 years.

The way the OP of the Reddit post mentioned about their work and how they felt about it makes it even more sad. Sadly, itโ€™s time to take jobs not too seriously and look at them as transactional relationships whenever possible.

Extremely fucking sad to read this I feel very strange reading these layoff accounts

It's so weird cuz our jobs are such a major part of our everyday, and then one day it's gone...

I think gone are the days when companies used to build and maintain open-source projects that helped community/them down the road, now if anything isn't bringing directly profit it has to be killed ๐Ÿ˜ž

No economical advantage anymore. Someone else do the gods work let us focus on milking more money ๐Ÿ™‚

I find it interesting that people still aspire to work in Google after the layoffs during 2022,23 etc..

They moved part of the team to berlin and that would the team focused on python now. Others resigned as they didnโ€™t want to move there.
