google interview

One of my friends recently interviewed at Google. He cleared the first technical round and the G&L round, and then had his full interview loop on last week of jan.

Out of the loop interviews, one went well and the other was okay-ish. After that, there was complete silence from the recruiter despite a couple of follow-up emails.

After around 40 days, the recruiter finally called and mentioned that one interviewer still hasn’t submitted their feedback, and that the issue has now been escalated to leadership to get the feedback in.

At this point, it has already been 40 days since the last interview. Has anyone experienced something similar? Is it a sign that the process is going somewhere, or is it just a normal delay?
