“Founding Intern” + “9AM-6AM” + Peanuts as stipend

I think it's a valid ask. If it takes certain hours of efforts, those could be awarded with a stipend. But, she should've called it out while setting expectation call that happened.

you want the job ? you have to go through the process
show me one company which pays people to take interviews, whatever may be the process
Stipend for Internship ❌ Stipend for Internship Interview Assignment ✅
Well, most startup’s don’t have the luxury of teaching interns and provide training before interns can start working. They need someone who can start working as soon as they join and there is no better way to test it than to give them an assignment. A properly designed assignment gives better insight into how prepared the candidate is for the job he/she is applying for than a simple interview with 2-3 tech rounds and 1-2 culture fit rounds.(Hot Take)
As for someone who is applying for the intern role, they should take it up as a learning opportunity and not tie it with money (seems counterintuitive, right?). Reason being they are joining as an intern, a role that is not supposed to be of as high value as that of a full time employee. Intern roles are more for learning and less for earning. I am not saying that there shouldn’t be any compensation for it, but that should not be a primary motivation for internship, let alone the interview for an internship.
And nothing provides a better learning opportunity for interns than a startup.
your statement contradicts.... you want an intern who wants to learn and the same intern to start contributing as soon as they join. if you want straight away contribution to your project then hire them as an employee and not as an intern.
2 months back one company in blore asked me for 2nd round f2f interview which is 25 kms away, I spend money, time and efforts, it took whole day and I cracked interview.
HR asked again to come for 3rd round, which will take another full day. I dumped the company as not possible to take back to back leaves while working.
They didn’t pay me for my travel and food.
Surprisingly, they don’t think it is not right to call someone f2f twice frequently with no allowance.
"I would prefer AI to take over all jobs"
My brother in Christ, AI ain't free. How you gon afford AI when you can't afford to pay an intern? 💀😭🤦🏻♂️
