Yes you heard it right. It's for a company where most ex-Byju's folks have joined by parasite takeover(You can Search in linkedin). Ex Byju's folks aren't asked to do on call during that week because as per the company only they have a fair share of rights (as their bosses present everywhere)and non-byju's folks don't have. I hope their Diwali will also get ruined sometime, who are doing this kind of discrimination.

OP - I am sorry to say this but don't think your attitude is right on this one. Having said that I work in TCS and I don't think I would get the day off as well.

I would discuss with you manager \ supervisor about the day and if its a holiday for you. Say that you will need to take the holiday off because you have plans. If its not a holiday, then ask for a leave. I would assume that both of these would get rejected. If so, ask for proper reason via email and I would discuss with HR. If all of those fails, be professional and work the day.

PS: ON CALL is a scam and its like you have to work
