Feeling Hopeless
Hi friends,
Today, I got rejected after 6 intense rounds of interviews spanning 45 days, all with positive feedback — and still, a “NO” at the end.
Here’s the journey: 1. Round 1 – Technical + Coding (Engg. Manager) ✅ Cleared. Feedback: Move to next. 2. Round 2 – Head of Technology ✅ Cleared. Feedback: Everything is fine. 3. Round 3 – Co-Founder ✅ Cleared. Feedback: “Very impressed.” 4. Round 4 – Coding Round (Ex-Team Lead) ✅ Cleared. Feedback: “Satisfied.” 5. Round 5 – Founder + HR ✅ Cleared. Shared salary expectations. 6. Round 6 – Again with Head of Tech ❌ Here’s where it fell apart.
He started Technical improvement i explained very well but after that into product analysis — why companies like KuKu FM, Pocket FM, Clubhouse failed. I calmly said, “My core role is Flutter Tech Lead, not a Product Analyst.” Still, I answered what I could and even requested 1-2 days to prepare a deeper analysis.
He said, “You’re not right for this role.” I asked why this wasn’t evaluated in earlier rounds? His reply: “This is the process.”
At that moment, I realized: this guy was just wasting my time. 6 rounds? 45 days? And now you tell me you want a Product + Technical unicorn? Then why post a Flutter Lead role in the JD?
I smiled, said, “Let’s wrap this,” and logged off.
Inside, I was boiling. I wanted to abuse him on the spot, but my polite nature stopped me.
⸻
I’m sharing this not out of frustration alone, but for awareness.
🚫 If you’re a hiring manager: Don’t play games. People’s careers, emotions, and energy are not for trial runs.

90% of companies are not worth more than Two technical rounds.
If someone is asking me to give more than 3 technical rounds for the job, I will simply avoid...
Cause it hurts at the end if for some trivial reason they don't provide the offer.
My wife who is from HR background says - this is a tactic basically to buy time (4-5 rounds) so that another candidate with lesser pay expectations are found just to save costs for the company.
Most probably someone else ate your role for a lesser salary.

Thank your for your comment ❤️

"product analysis — why companies like KuKu FM, Pocket FM, Clubhouse failed."
Engineers need to know this?
was it because they found someone else in the meantime so asked this to just be able to say no to you? I bet the next question would've been some unsolved maths problem 🤕

Yes you are correct 👍

Please advice guys need suggestions on this 🥲
