What is your back up plan
What if you lose your job tomorrow and are not able to get another offer? What is your back up plan? Do you have an alternate income source or any idea?

So some background about me:
worked in consulting for 5 years. Saved decent and adding investments I had a corpus of ~15 lakhs
got tired of life and wanted to figure stuff out so I traveled for a year, gave GMAT and all
got into a B school and did that for a year
burned up all my savings through travelling and living away from home as I value my independence (my parents funded my masters so I have 0 loan) + I travelled through south east Asia for 6 months, worked in a dive bar in Vietnam before mba
total gap of 2 years with 0 income lol. I could have planned financially a little better but abh ye YOLO ka keeda G**ND mein kaat raha hai
Have gotten a decent first job now post MBA taking in 1.6L a month with monthly expenses around 55-60k
It feels bad sometimes when I compare other people who are 29 and they have their life together. I DONT and I feel behind :/ I know I shouldn’t compare but it feels like that.
When I look back I often wonder, should I have lived life differently.
I know there would be people with varied opinions about this. But I was just tired of monotony, and just wanted to romanticise life a little. I would have never been able to be 27 again and without responsibilities.
But now I feel all of it 🥲 People are getting married and all. My relationship also didn’t work. Kaun hi karega mujhse shaadi. This capitalistic and materialistic world is a little hard to deal with sometimes.

You've chosen and taken a path in life, with reasonable knowledge of what it would entail.
You were lucky to have the family support, and hence have more life experience and stories than others who are stuck at a job due to responsibilities.
Comparison is the start of a downward spiral. Look onward and upward. 👍
Even Steve Jobs long ago took a break from work and travelled around India.
You don't have to have an immediate epiphany and level up in life.

Thanks for your comforting words

29 here. Feeding myself off a personal loan. Recently got a job that gives me 2.8L/mo in hand. But before that burned 1.5L/mo, while earning 80K/mo.
0 savings
0 investments
10L in pending loans.
Coming from an IIT I have friends who have Cr in their banks/savings.
But no regret. Because I am just 29.
P.S. Also getting married early next year

Comparison kr kr hi hi mar jaao sab Bsdwalo.
Khush kisi ne rehna hi nhi hai life mein.
Main 32 ka hu, 80k milta hai, lekin mummy-papa ke saath rehta hu isliye content hu. Sab kuch to nhi mil skta na life mein. Kabhi to khush raho saalo

I have a similar story boss. Spent an year in Europe after Masters. Thought I'll figure out what I like eventually. Now it's been 2 years since I'm back in india and I still haven't figured out what I'd really like to do. I also have a gap as well...
Now I'm stuck in a shitty SaaS company. I don't really know where my career will end up lol.

What could you have achieved if you worked for those years, perhaps a few more bucks, which inflation would have eaten away eventually or could have been used to pay your hospital bills due to the stress you would have accumulated. Or paid as tax, or bought some adulterated food? Is this what life is all about? NO. You travelled you gained experiences, I could never do that. I wish I could.

Thanks for saying that. I have to say that to myself when im spiralling at odd hours in the night. The sad thing is that after my MBA my bubble about the world has completely burst open.
I see so much happening in the world that I can’t ignore it. People are making so much money and how! I want to do that too. I guess there is a big gap between where I want to be and where I am at.
Yahi hai dukh ka source.
Absence of action makes it worse.
But I’m giving myself a discount as I just finished my MBA 3 months back and getting a solid footing in my job

MBA from where bruh? I'm 29 without MBA am I cooked?

I just saw someone give textbook comment of life and stories and Steve jobs then I saw manager word lol make believe content.

@Pakulo_papito yes need to know MBA from where

It can be anything related to not doing something you always wanted to but never did, a mistake you realize you shouldn’t have made, or feelings of not being successful enough. Feel free to share your thoughts.
