Stop reading these stupid clickbait articles. Who the hell even is sandeep jethwani and why should we listen to him

He’s the founder of Dezerv Great guy, had done an AMA here

He is a Instagram scammer,

This has been all over X, and it's made me think. People are setting goals that are quite messed up. 40 crores is a big sum, most people do not make it till there.
If you set the yardstick so far, you're not really wanting to retire.
In which case, the goal should be to do GREAT WORK acc to me, and not to make X crores.
To chase just money when you're gonna be chasing it for 40-50 years can make people a little miserable.

Ah yes the exact mentality your employer wants you to have so they can buy a new Porsche.

For me 3Cr is number that I feel one can blindly target for a work free life style in India for a metro city other than Mumbai

Do you have your own house, how many dependents you have, do you kids, which city you would retire in.. These are factors that would come into play. If you own a house then it become much more easier.

Let’s assume a own nothing and small family . Can’t I adjust for 1 lakh per month without saving 1 penny ? Let’s divide 3 CR into 1Cr which I will spend 1 lakh per month (no work no savings ) in any city but all my expenses should be 1 lakh . Remaining 2CR let me invest in Index funds . After 10years when o complete my 1Cr I will take out half of what I invest in Index funds and use for next 10years like that o don’t want to work

40 lac ban jaye

Yahi reality hai bhai. Aise waise logon ki baatein sunke apna Dimaag mat kharab karo

This is overstated. I think somebody needs 40 lakh crores only if they are living in South Bombay or a very, very important part of Delhi to buy a house there.
If you're a regular person, the number should look much less than that. Of course, unless your needs are big.

Dream big don't settle anything less than 100cr
